Tropical pre- and post-testing

safe when traveling to tropical and subtropical areas

Tropical examination Munich: You will be examined by us after a stay in tropical or subtropical regions or with regard to an infectious disease.

Here is some information:

Tropical diseases are often very complex and often difficult to diagnose. Even symptoms that appear mild, such as mosquito bites, may be underlying more serious illnesses that require treatment. Only from the combination of history, symptoms and examination results can the diseases be diagnosed or excluded.

Tropical diseases generally need to be recognized and treated quickly. Thus, it is not possible to resort to time-consuming step-by-step diagnostics, but all important values must be available as quickly as possible.

Therefore, we have made a very comprehensive, quality-oriented standard program the basis of our tropical follow-up examinations. Among other things, this also includes so-called “trivial” parameters.

An example is the cholesterol level, which can give an indication of malaria disease, or the test for hidden blood in the stool, which is often positive early in typhoid fever.

Only such routine programs can provide a basis for the qualitatively optimal diagnostics, so that your health risks are minimized. As a positive side effect, this examination provides you with a comprehensive “check up” (health examination). We try to maintain our quality at this high level despite the general restrictions in the health care system.

The standard program is supplemented by symptom-oriented special examinations. These are sometimes very time-consuming, can take several days and are billed directly by the laboratory performing the work. The course of many tropical diseases is not always predictable. Often several examinations are necessary to reach a diagnosis or therapy. Please always call us immediately if your condition worsens or does not improve as expected.

Our practice team will be happy to provide you with further information.
